Event Details

What will it take to prevent dangerous levels of climate change?  Is planting a trillion trees enough?  How about switching power from coal to natural gas and renewables?  What about a price on carbon pollution?  These are among the questions facing policymakers across the globe.

Larry Peranich will lead us in assessing the policy changes we might want (or don't want), using the interactive En-ROADS simulation model. En-ROADS is a freely-available, online climate change policy simulation model that provides policy makers, educators, businesses, the media, and the public with the ability to explore dynamics in energy supply, land use, transportation, carbon removal, and more. Can we identify policies that we like that can match the Paris Agreement climate targets.?

Also, we will provide an info sheet for you covering recent major climate actions such as COP26, recent US legislation (the Infrastructure and Build Back Better bills), and the recently updated draft of the San Diego Climate Action Plan.
