Program Description

Event Details

Alyce Smith-Cooper joins us at the Ocean Beach Library in honor of Black History Month to tell the story of the Underground Railroad from the perspective of Harriet Tubman. Alyce Smith-Cooper, an African-American Ancestral storyteller with more than 35 years of experience, will share Harriet Tubman’s story, and her courage, with each person in the audience. Those who attend the event will step into the past and learn about how an amazing system of escape routes was created and used by African slaves to travel to freedom.
