Program Description

Event Details

Every other week, SDPL staff have their book reviews published in the San Diego Union Tribune followed by a video review posted on SDPL social media the following week. Watch the Behind the Desk video and receive bonus content about the book.

Library assistant Magda Tamulski recommends The Falcon Thief by Joshua Hammer, a rollicking true-crime adventure about a rogue who trades in rare birds and their eggs, and the wildlife detective determined to stop him

Behind the Desk is our latest video series and delves deeper into the Recommended Reads published every other Sunday in the Union-Tribune. Check the Sunday Paper to see the latest review from SDPL staff from all over San Diego or view our archives on the library website: https://sandiego.gov/sdplreviews.

Want other suggestions for great reads? Magda has a bonus playlist for you:

The Bad-Ass Librarians of Timbuktu by Joshua Hammer

The Feather Thief by Kirk Johnson

The Man Who Loved Books Too Much by Allison Bartlett
