Program Description

Event Details

Join Mrs. Claudia on Friday, May 21st at 10 am on the SDPL Virtual Hub and SY Facebook page, for a special multilingual storytime as she reads in Spanish, English and sign language, "Eyes that Kiss in the Corners" by Joanna Ho and Dung Ho, and "Amy Wu & the Perfect Bao" by Kat Zhang and Charlene Chua to celebrate Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

A self-confident and strong young girl recounts how she shares her eyes--and so much more--with her mother, her amah and her little sister. This lyrical, stunning picture book tells a story about learning to love and celebrate your Asian-shaped eyes and is a celebration of diversity!

Amy is determined to make a perfect dumpling like her parents and grandmother do, but hers are always too empty, too full, or not pinched together properly.

Special thanks to Harper and Aladdin Publishing for allowing Mrs. Claudia to share these special cultural books with you in celebration of AAPI Heritage Month!
