Upheaval: Turning Points for Nations in Crisis  by Jared Diamond
Upheaval explores how some nations successfully recover from crises while adopting selective changes—a coping mechanism more commonly associated with individuals recovering from personal crises. Diamond compares how six countries have survived recent upheavals, then looks to the future to examine whether the United States, Japan, and the whole world are successfully coping with the grave crises they currently face. Can we learn from lessons of the past?

If you'd like to check out a print copy of the book, they are available 1 month before each discussion at the Pacific Beach Library's Circulation Desk.  Please call 858-581-9934 x0 before coming to pick it up so that staff may confirm availability and check it out to your library account before you arrive.
