The Friends of the La Jolla Library presents Film Noir Classics, shown on the second Friday of every month at 2:00pm.

July 12, 2019 - Spellbound (1945), starring Ingrid Bergman & Gregory Peck. A psychiatrist protects the identity of an amnesia patient accused of murder while    attempting to recover his memory.

August 9, 2019 - Touch of Evil (1958), starring Orson Welles and Charleton Heston. A stark, perverse story of murder, kidnapping, and police corruption in a Mexican border town.

September 13, 2019 -  Sunset Boulevard (1950), starring William Holden & Gloria Swanson. A screenwriter develops a dangerous relationship with a faded film star determined to make a triumphant return.

October 11, 2019 -  CANCELLED for Staff Training Day

November 8, 2019 - The Big Sleep (1946), starring Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. Private detective Philip Marlowe is hired by a rich family. Before the complex case is over, he's seen murder, blackmail, and what might be love.
