On December 14th we will convene once more at our new location. Our meeting date for the foreseeable future remains the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m.

The theme for this month will be LAST YEAR! Now, that doesn’t necessarily mean coins from 2020; we mean coins from their LAST YEAR OF ISSUE, featuring a specific design. This can be for either obverse or reverse design, or both. Examples would be a 1970 large size British penny, a 1958 Wheat back cent, a 1963 Franklin Half, a 1921 Morgan Dollar or 2008 Lincoln Cent. The 2021 Type 1 Silver Eagle is a more recent example.

This month, in keeping with an age old club tradition, we will hold a WHITE ELEPHANT SALE. The way this works is that members are invited to bring in an item or items they would like to donate to the club for immediate auction. The items need not be numismatic, but you’re welcome to donate coins too. The items donated will sell individually to the highest bidder, with the proceeds retained by the club for future use.

We are currently collecting $6 dues for 2022, and will be holding our election of officers this month. Incumbent officers have accepted nomination for another year, but we are in need of one more volunteer to step up and accept the nomination to the post of Secretary. Please consider answering the call by indicating your interest in accepting the position. The library closes at 8 o’clock, so we need to conclude our business by 7:45. We will therefore bring the meeting to order promptly at six o’clock to ensure sufficient time to carry out the items on the agenda for our meeting.

If you haven’t been to our meeting, the easiest approach is to take the Nobel exit from North bound I-805. If you’re coming South on I-805 it’s a little more circuitous. Take the La Jolla Village Drive exit to the right, then turn left on Town Center Dr. Turn Left on Nobel Drive, Left on Judicial and a final Left on Research Place. You’ll see the library with the 8820 address on the front. Our meeting room is inside the library on the right hand side just after entering the building. We had a good turn out for our first meeting. We hope to see everyone for our meeting this next week.

Treats will be provided, and we give thanks to Debbi for providing us with scrumptious home baked goodies. We look forward to seeing you in attendance next Tuesday the 14th.

PS--Our first local show in nearly two years will be held next month in El Cajon on Sunday, January 16t
