Hone your drawing & story-making skills and create a comic with San Diego’s Burn All Books!
In this visionary group drawing game, Manda Bernal of Burn All Books, will guide us through a game of sketchbook prompts and character formations using a 20 sided die that prods our creations to “learn something unexpected”, have a “prophetic dream”, and “find something” just to name a few!
Audience members will follow along and make their own comic, or participate in our group comic that Manda will be drawing, finishing with a Show-n-Tell of our works of art!
Register attendees will also be mailed a very special comic creation kit prior to the event.
This unique program celebrates the San Diego Public Library's Comic's Conference for Educators and Librarians - in partnership with Comic-Con International © by exploring the role comics play in promoting education and literacy. Librarians, educators, and enthusiasts are invited to learn new ways to incorporate comics and other popular arts into their professional work and promote them as a medium for learning.
