Hullabaloo - fun music event for babies/toddlers. Do your little ones like to wiggle and shake and laugh and sing? Then this is for you!!! Bring a blanket if you like – the event is held in the park adjacent to the library.

Active little ones and their caregivers will have fun singing songs, dancing and reading while laying the foundation for future reading success.

Registration is required for each event. Please register one month prior by calling 858-552-1668 or at the Youth Services Desk. Registered children will begin being admitted to Tinker Lab starting at 10:30am, sharp.

The Children’s class includes fun poses for parents and kids, yoga story time and a bit of singing.  Watch as your child transforms his or herself into a cat, a monkey, a dog, a lion and much more!  Class is geared toward children ages 3

Classes are free.  Enroll anytime in class.  Wear appropriate clothing and shoes for physical activity.  Weights and mats will be needed.  The class helps improve balance, strength, stamina and flexibility.

Homework Help is back at Balboa Library! We are pleased to offer this program for our Kindergarten through 8th grade students. Miss Heidi, our volunteer, will assist students with their homework questions. Come and welcome Miss Heidi.

Volunteer led homework help for students in grades K-12. 

Library NExT’s Messy Science class offers hands-on learning activities, including the opportunity to design structures and test their resiliency. Students explore concepts such as tsunamis, landslides, permafrost, glaciers, and sea level rise.

Join us for story-inspired stretches, music, and yoga-friendly toys. We will finish class by using our body, brain, and breath to transition from silly to calm. Please bring a mat or towel. Ages 3-8. Every Tuesday.
