You are invited to join a 4 week course on mindfulness at the Kensington Library. Attendance to all four sessions is not mandatory but is highly encouraged. Beginner and attendees of all experience levels are welcome.

Go exploring with storyteller Marilyn McPhie.  What will you find off the beaten path?  A bear?  A pot of gold?  A cave?  Enjoy stories from around the world - and definitely off the beaten path!

Are you cosplaying during San Diego Comic-Con? Need a cosplay repair? Don't despair!

Join us for bilingual English/Mandarin Chinese stories and songs with Ms. Danning at the library. All ages welcome. The storytime will be on the 4th Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

The San Diego Ballet offers free dance classes Saturday mornings at the City heights Library!

Class Description: Youth Ballet Class 10:00am- 11:00am

We're rolling out all the stock from the back BUT only on these special Saturdays! 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on select Saturdays--be there and help support the Friends of the Library!

Recommended for toddlers, preschoolers, and early elementary-school age kids, this simple dance program will feature "The Wheels on the Bus," "Baby Shark," and more. Families, it’s time to show us your moves and come dance with us!

Students will work together in small groups to create their own vegetable batteries.

To celebrate Comic Con, we are making Super Hero SLIME!

As a super hero, you never know when you'll come up against a slimy villain.

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s a dancing Superhero! Dress in costume and join Dance to Evolve instructors for fun. Superheroes will get to learn hip hop dancing powers while having a blast!
Recommended For Kids Ages: 3-8 years

Sparkles the Clown will entertain with magic, comedy, and bubbles! This is a great event for kids!  The program will be indoors, so, uh, dress accordingly.

Monthly meeting of the Page Turners' Book Club.  Title for July is Leaving Time by Jodi Picoult.

How do octopuses change color and why do oysters make pearls? Investigate how slimy sea creatures live and thrive in their underwater homes. Then create an artwork inspired by what you have learned.

Learn about electronics and circuits while creating fun crafts projects! Possible projects include a moving origami swan, light-up LED bracelet or robot bug.

Students will discover the geologic activity happening all around them right now. The workshop will examine Southern California’s fault systems and look at recent earthquake activity using online tools from the US Geological Survey.

La Jolla High School Guidance Counselor Linda Dowley will provide students with information on applying to college, submitting recommendation letters, writing admissions essays, and take questions. Geared to grades 9-12.
