Description of Event
We will gather together young women from local middle and high schools to work through the design process as we build Sisu Academy: a brand new, tuition-free boarding high school for girls. During the first step of the Design Thinking Process, Empathy, girls will interview each other to find out what is working in current school models and look for existing needs or missed opportunities. In groups, participants will work together to choose a current need in school and ideate several possible solutions for this need. Finally, groups will choose one solution to fully flush out in a poster prototype and then share back to the larger group. These ideas and other youth feedback will help guide the creation of Sisu Academy.
