Event Details

Join us for a Día de los Niños program and explore the art and culture of San Diego! Come learn about the East Village’s Urban Art Trail and local community-based art inspired by Latinx heritage. Special guest Rafael Lopez, a local artist, Children’s book illustrator and creator of the Urban Art Trail will join us to discuss the inspiration behind the project, and how the community came together to make the project a reality.  We will also be featuring the book, Maybe Something Beautiful: How Art Transformed a Neighborhood, which tells the story of the Urban Art Trail and beautifully depicts what is possible when a community comes together.
