In this highly interactive, music-based storytime program, children have the opportunity to make music, learn beats, and dance and move to the sounds. All ages are welcome to attend.

Learn signs to use with your child! Signing fun with songs, stories, and finger plays as well as tips for using sign language as a preverbal communication tool with your little one.

Library Craft for All is an art and crafts program for adults with special needs.  People of all abilities are welcome to participate in this event. Join us to make a Jack-O-Lantern Acrylic Paint art using acrylic paint and card stock paper.

Sensory play. Join us outside to play with our new sensory tables. Mud play, sand play, and more! Program takes place in the backside of our patio.

Mind and Body Fitness is done mostly standing or in a chair. No mats required.
Space is limited to 25 people per class.

Be sure to get to the library a little early, this class fills up fast!

Stay and Play welcomes the San Diego Air and Space Museum to the Malcolm X Library.  The Mission Control Bus, a mobile classroom will be here to present stories and activities about Things That Go!   Children ages 0-5 and their care

Learn to use simple ASL signs to open a window into a baby and child's mind, lowering frustration, and enhancing bonding, speech, and literacy with music, stories, puppets, parachute & bubbles, all with ASL signs.

Join us every Wednesday at the Ocean Beach Library to read to DK, our bearded dragon or Darwin, our Ball Python. Practice your skills and gain confidence by reading to these enthusiastic and non-judgmental reptiles.

Join us for story-inspired stretches, music, and child-friendly props! We conclude by using our breath to transition from silly to calm. Please bring a mat or towel.

The Teen IDEA Lab is a space to be used for creative projects that require specialized equipment and software.

Come join us for Lego Club on the first and third Wednesdays of the month from 4pm - 5pm! The library provides the Lego for creative free build. Creations are displayed at the library for 2 weeks. All materials must stay at the library.
