Bilingual Storytime – Saturdays (Except the First Saturday of the Month)

Bring the littles and come for a fun dance party and maybe a storytime!  We will dance to fun songs, use egg shakers, and dance with bubbles!

Dive into the world of video games at the San Diego Public Library’s 4th annual Game Jam! Learn the basics of game development and design, then collaborate in teams to build your own game using Godot, RenPy, or Scratch.

Visit the library on Saturday & create a terrific craft. All supplies provided! 

Great bargain used books

Let’s get those wiggles out! Kids are invited to dance, sing, and shake along to all their favorite songs—think “Baby Shark,” “The Wheels on the Bus,” and plenty more.

These Storytimes, good for kids ages 4 to 6, are fun, kinetic, and humorous experiences!  I make it a point not just to read books, but to perform them as well!

Travel the world through different art techniques and styles on the second and fourth Saturday of each month, alongside professional artist Mel Clarkston.

Performing songs such as “#FROYOLO” and “Donuts,” this hip-hop/rap/dance/comedy duo must be seen to be believed!  You won’t want to miss this hilarious and fun dance party event! 

Science comes “alive” at the library with Wild Wonders wildlife education programs! A biologist will introduce you to up to six Animal Ambassadors which may include a kinkajou, boa constrictor, iguana, or armadillo!

Stop and Swap: Seeds, Plants, Veggies, Fruits, Flowers and More!

Too many zucchinis? Lots of cut flowers? Succulents getting too big? Ordered too many radish seeds? CSA box full of vegetables you won't eat?

Join us every Saturday from 10:30am-12pm for Lego and Rokenbok Club! Patrons will be able to build at their own pace.

We will provide a lego square to build on and patrons can continue to build on it week after week. 

Enjoy some sign language fun for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers with Ms. Jennifer from Signs at Play!

Come learn some simple signs and songs at this fun weekly event!

Learn how to integrate more fruits, vegetables, and whole grains in your diet, in a way that is tasty and doesn’t leave you feeling deprived of the foods you want!

LEGO Free Play: Imagine and build with LEGO! Keep your engineering and problem-solving skills sharp using the library's LEGO bricks.

Join us at the Innovation Station where we'll learn about electricity by making LED light up cards. All supplies are provided and no reservations are needed. Open to kids of all ages. 

We are excited to offer 3D Printing in person! Stop by the La Jolla/Riford Library's IDEA Lab during open lab hours with your .STL file and staff will be happy to assist you.
