Description of Event

Are gender stereotypes based on reality? Is there a kernel of truth that men are more likely to engage in risky behavior whereas women are more cautious? Are women more sensitive and emotional than men? In this seminar you’ll discover the structural and functional
differences between the male and female brain. You’ll also take a fun look at where you fall on the
gendered brain spectrum.

Presenter Bio: Gail Lynn Hooker is an adjunct professor at The College of New Jersey and LaSalle University. Ms. Hooker received her undergraduate degree from Kean University and her Master’s Degree in education from The College of New Jersey. She earned National Board Certification as an educator in 2002. The College of New Jersey and LaSalle University offer a graduate course she codesigned
about the gendered brain. This course has been taken by more than 1,000 students. During her more than thirty years as an educator, her interests were piqued by the disparate behaviors of male and female students which led her to research about the gendered brain for the past fifteen years.
