In this dramatic and page-turning narrative history of Japanese Americans before, during and after their World War II incarceration, Kamei weaves the voices of over 130 individuals who lived through this tragic time. After the presentation there will be a book signing and Q&A.

This event is free to attend. Books will be available to purchase at the event. Proceeds from book sales support the San Diego Public Library. To purchase a copy of the book in advance click here.

This event is presented by The San Diego Public Library Foundation in support of the program series The Rebellious Miss Breed: San Diego Public Library and the Japanese American Incarceration. This project was made possible with support from California Humanities, a partner of the NEH.
