Come join us for Lego Club on the first and third Wednesdays of the month from 4pm - 5pm! The library provides the Lego for creative free build. Creations are displayed at the library for 2 weeks. All materials must stay at the library.

Stay and Play is a play group and storytime for kids age 0-5 and their adults. We especially invite nontraditional caregivers (friends, family members, and neighbors) who care for children in an informal way.

Get together with your friends after school and have fun with a big box of different STEAM projects and games.

Are you interested in learning Computer Aided Design (CAD)? Register to attend this introduction to CAD! Presented by your local FTC Team, RoboRavens, this program will cover the basics of CAD using Onshape. 

STEAM Explorers Club is for 3rd through 6th graders who are interested in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Mathematics). Each week kids engage in a new and fun hands-on/minds-on activity exploring a wide range of subjects.

There's always fun to be had with piñatas! Join us to learn how piñatas are constructed, the different materials they're made of, and how it all affects the science of force. Participants will have the opportunity to make their own piñatas.

LEGO Free Play: Imagine and build with LEGO! Keep your engineering and problem-solving skills sharp using the library's LEGO bricks.

Join us at the Innovation Station where we'll learn about electricity by making LED light up cards. All supplies are provided and no reservations are needed. Open to kids of all ages. 

Try your hand at computer programming! Learn the basics of computer programming while creating your own flower catching game in Scratch.

This is an in-person program. Registration is encouraged.

Beginner friendly computer-aided design (CAD) projects such as keychains and simple geometric models. 3D printing available during class. Open to all school aged children. No previous experience necessary. No reservations needed. 

Explore what goes into making a tortilla! In this hands-on program, learn about the cultural background of tortilla-making as well as the physical and chemical changes that occur as the dough is formed, pressed, and cooked.

We are excited to offer 3D Printing in person! Stop by the La Jolla/Riford Library's IDEA Lab during open lab hours with your .STL file and staff will be happy to assist you.

Join us for a fun-filled program dive into the world of fashion design! Participants will learn the basics of machine sewing, weaving, and much more while exploring a variety of materials and mediums.

Kids can enjoy being creative by building with LEGO blocks and DUPLO bricks. It's a great opportunity for exploring with new ideas, as well as sharing concepts and strategies with other attendees.

Bring your ideas to life at our Mobile Maker Lab in the Mission Hills-Hillcrest Library. Learn to use various programs and equipment  such as our 3D printer and die cut machine powered by Silhouette Studio.

Play games! Get creative! Have fun! Each week Ms. Maureen will feature a different fun program, from trivia for kids, to making paper airplanes, to painting a self-portrait.
