Event Details

Using the power of Minecraft: Education Edition, students will learn about Biodiversity, and will explore the effects that extinction has on the environment. Students will explore the world Extinction! A Biodiversity Crisis where they can take a rollercoaster journey through time to visit charismatic extinct species & investigate the causes of their extinction. Next, students will enter a Rainforest Biome where they can create an ecosystem and document the extinction of an animal in their digital journal. Finally, students will use the MakeCode platform to help the environment by coding their character to automatically plant new trees. The goal of this session is for students to understand importance of biodiversity and how it has shaped the world in which we live.

Free workshop geared for ages 9-12.
