Join KPBS and Girl Scouts San Diego for a special workshop around the 2019 One Book for Kids selection, "Dreamers" by Yuyi Morales.

Includes a story time and hands-on craft activity, and the first 60 participants will receive a free copy of the book! Recommended for children in grades k-2. Open to all, however participating Girl Scouts will earn a special One Book, One San Diego patch.

This beautifully illustrated picture book is a timeless tale of family. It celebrates what migrants bring with them when they leave their home, and it reminds us that we are all dreamers, bringing our own gifts wherever we roam.

This event is hosted in partnership between KPBS, Girl Scouts San Diego and San Diego Public Library for this year’s One Book, One San Diego. The 2019 selections include “The Great Believers” by Rebecca Makkai, “The Crossover” by Kwame Alexander for young adults, "Dreamers" by Yuyi Morales for kids, and “Éramos unos niños” by Patti Smith for Spanish-language readers.
