Description of Event

Unsure if you would work with a special education advocate, attorney or both? We'll explore the thin-line between going it alone, working with an advocate, or finding an attorney to help you resolve issues that arise at IEP meetings or throughout the year! Ever wonder what the difference is between an advocate and attorney? When do you chose advocate, attorney, or both? Maybe you’re using an advocate and wonder if it’s time to see an attorney? We'll explore the different considerations that come into play when deciding on whether to get an advocate or attorney. Presented by Seth Schwartz, Esq., from the Law Offices of Schwartz & Storey, with special education advocates, including, but not limited to, Kristi Kelly, Maria David, April Villifana, Ashley Parton, Bertha Taylor, Allan Roth, and Cynthia Norall. We'll have two separate discussions, each followed by time for questions. Each panel will focus on a set of hypothetical situations designed to identify the factors that go into determining whether you should consider speaking to an advocate or an attorney.
