Event Details

Thanks to the new Netflix show Trese, the vampire-like aswang is becoming as much of a national symbol of the Philippines as adobo. In celebration of Pilipinx American History Month, Mango Bride author Marivi Soliven and playwright Thelma Virata de Castro will read scary stories from Spooky Mo and Philippine Fright, then lead a rich discussion about Pilipinx folklore and fear. Special guests will offer their own ghostly tales in a campfire-style spooky storytelling session. (Note: We are no longer looking for story tellers. Thank you for your interest!)

If you are interested in telling a 5-10 minute maximum ghost story, please email AEbbay@sandiego.gov.
