Program Description

Practice mechanical and circuit design while constructing a model of the late French-American sculptor Niki de Saint Phalle's Sun God statue! The first of the Stuart Collection public art projects in 1983, the Sun God has become an important part of the UCSD community.  But unlike the monumental statue at UCSD, the Robo Sun God will be able to sense light and flap its wings. Participants will learn the fundamentals of circuits, transistors, and motors. Participants will be able to paint their Robo Sun God after completion.  No experience is required!

The kits are created by UCSD's School of of Electrical and Computer Engineering Department's student-led organization, Project-In-A-Box.

Limit 1 kit per household.

All participants are welcome. If you need special accessibility accommodations, please email jfrogers@sandiego.gov in advance of your participation.

If you have comments, questions, or grievances about Project-In-A-Box, please contact LYee@sandiego.gov.
