Silvergate Lacers - Everyone is welcome

Description of Event

Monthly meeting of the Silvergate Lacers, a charter chapter of the International Orgainization of Lace, Inc., which is a non-profit organization. We meet typically at the Rancho Santa Fe Library but during the summer month of July, they have a reading program where they need the room we typically meet in. Since we demonstrate our lacemaking skills at the San DIego County Fair, we'd like to be able to meet to teach anyone who is interested in learning the centuries old hand craft. We usually don't hold a July meeting but would like to meet to be able to accommodate and teach anyone who is interested. I hope to be able to reserve the room each first Saturday of July of each year! Anyone who is in the library is welcome to come learn, watch us work or chat with us to learn the history of lacemaking. They can even come to share their lace pieces and we can help determine if they are machine-made or handmade and from what part of the world. We have been at your library before and it was a great success for us all and we look forward to being there again. Respectfully submitted, Monica Monica Posner Vice President, Silvergate Lacers Vice President, Chula Bobbin Lacers Convention Finance Committee, International Organization of Lace, Inc. https://internationalorganizationoflace.org/
