Event Details

What do s'mores, cheese quesadillas, and nachos have in common? You can make all three of these delicious treats in your very own homemade solar oven! That’s right – a homemade solar oven!

As long as you’re patient and willing to move your oven where the sun is, you’ll be rewarded with a yummy treat! Using everyday materials and the sun’s energy your solar oven heats up without adding greenhouse gases to the atmosphere, making it the perfect science activity to celebrate Earth Day.

Join us as we build a solar oven and make s'mores!

Video will be posted on the San Diego Public Library's Virtual Hub on Facebook on Thursday, April 15 at 3:30pm.
