Providing enrichment for our animal friends is incredibly important! During this monthly program you can help us make fun and easy enrichment items for homeless animals at our local Humane Society. 

Ever wondered how marine mammals dive to remarkable depths on a single breath? In the Under Pressure workshop, you’ll uncover the incredible adaptations that enable these animals to explore the ocean’s depths.

This stellar program is your ticket to the stars! Watch star dust burn, and journey through a soapy galaxy as you investigate the life cycle of stars! Use your Cosmic Disk to explore the constellations! NASA approved program.

Casual public chess meet, open to all skill levels. Chess club is for ages 7-17. 

Join us for a fun-filled afternoon of playing award-winning board games for children ages 2-17 and their families! Whether you're a seasoned player or new to the world of board games, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

Calling all LEGO Builders!

Put your engineering and problem-solving skills to the test by taking part in unique LEGO building challenges or let your imagination run wild and build your own special LEGO creations.

Join us for our weekly LEGO Club program! Promoting STEAM and creativity, let your kids express their inner engineer! Designs will be displayed in the children's library stacks.

Join us to make a simple version of a kaleidoscope using a paper plate, a paper cup, cellophane, and beads. For ages 5 and up.

Celebrate Valentine’s Day all month by making an art-ful pop-up heart card with Family Arts Collaborative! Visual artist Stacie Greene will show you how to make your own unique card for a friend or family member.

 Let's get creative with Perler Beads! You can make keychains, coasters, necklaces, bracelets, or ornaments by creating any designs using little beads bonded together with heat.  It's easy, lots of fun, and even meditative.

In this workshop participants will learn how to think like engineers by exploring engineering concepts like designing, prototyping, and testing through elements of VEX and FRC robotics. This program is intended for students in grades 4-8.

For Grades 5-10; CAD workshop series to introduce students to advanced CAD used in real-world industries to create detailed and complex 3D models with OnShape and SolidWorks.

STEAM every other Tuesday with library staff as we take on a unique science or art project!  All supplies provided.  Grades K—5^th.

Let's play chess!  All ages and skill levels are welcome to play casual games in our relaxed setting. 

Use your creativity and engineering skills to build a variety of contraptions and mazes. Make ‘em tall, make ’em fast, make ‘em COMPLEX!

Parking at the Library:

Come join us for Lego Club on the first and third Wednesdays of the month from 4pm - 5pm! The library provides the Lego for creative free build. Creations are displayed at the library for 2 weeks. All materials must stay at the library.

CREATE - SHARE - PLAY!

Make a sensory stimulating traffic light craft to explore Black History Month. Garret Morgan was a Black inventor and invented the three-way Traffic Light.

Bring your ideas to life at our Mobile Maker Lab in the Mission Hills-Hillcrest Library. Learn to use various programs and equipment  such as our 3D printer and die cut machine powered by Silhouette Studio.
