Join us for a performance of The Littlest Reindeer by Trinity Theatre!

Join us every third Thursday of the month for a very special bilingual storytime. Here children will be introduced to different languages, songs, stories and fun! 

Bring the kiddos to the library every Thursday morning for a variety of play!  Storytime, crafts, dancing, songs and most of all FUN!

Join in as the Dance to Evolve program sings, dances, and plays in this special Storytime, designed to foster a love of reading and develop essential early literacy skills.

Designed especially for children ages 3-5.

Stay and Play is a play group and storytime for kids age 0-5 and their adults. We especially invite nontraditional caregivers (friends, family members, and neighbors) who care for children in an informal way.

Bring the littles and come for a fun dance party and maybe a storytime!  We will dance to fun songs, use egg shakers, and dance with bubbles!

Please join us for storytime and craft every Saturday morning in the Children's Area at 10:00AM.

Come and enjoy our free Zumba for Kids program for babies and toddlers. This program involves music and movement to help kids strengthen their motor skills.

Practice your reading skills with a fluffy friend! Participants learn how to be safe around animals as they improve their reading skills.

Have you heard about our newest reading challenge?

The Great Escape is here! This program is for school-aged readers, K-12, to encourage reading and literacy. To complete this challenge readers must log 1000 minutes by May 31, 2026.

Calling all families to come and enjoy this inclusive event and meet the local author who will be providing a Storytime! This event is perfect for all young readers who thrive in a supportive setting.

LEGO Free Play: Imagine and build with LEGO! Keep your engineering and problem-solving skills sharp using the library's LEGO bricks.

Signing Storytime with Jennifer Duncan of Signs at Play is a fun event for families with young children. It combines the joy of stories with the added fun of baby sign language (ASL). 

Get crafty at the library every week! Each week there will be a unique craft that is fun for all ages. All supplies will be provided.

Experience some holiday magic with these festive films on our big screen. 

Come and join us to learn to sing! Participants will be learning several singing concepts. Elementary & teens!

Beginner friendly computer-aided design (CAD) projects such as keychains and simple geometric models. 3D printing available during class. Open to all school aged children. No previous experience necessary. No reservations needed.

We are excited to offer 3D Printing in person! Stop by the La Jolla/Riford Library's IDEA Lab during open lab hours with your .STL file and staff will be happy to assist you.

Join us for our weekly LEGO Club program! Promoting STEAM and creativity, let your kids express their inner engineer! Designs will be displayed in the children's library stacks.

Learn about the Magnus effect as you build and launch a simple gliding toy made out of two paper cups. For ages 5 and up.

Join us every Monday for LEGO Power Hour! Build your own creations to display in our library.  Program will take place in our study rooms 3 and 4.

Providing enrichment for our animal friends is incredibly important! During this monthly program you can help us make fun and easy enrichment items for homeless animals at our local Humane Society. 

Have someone in your family that is curious about DnD? Join us every Thursday at 3:30pm for our weekly board game afternoon and DnD session!

Come join the festive fun of decorating gingerbread houses! Dive into this delightful tradition where we provide the houses, and you bring them to life with a rainbow of candies. It's a sweet, sticky adventure you won't want to miss!

How about a game of chess? All levels of chess experience are welcome, from beginners to advanced. If you don't know how to play chess, you can learn at Chess Club!

Registration is required and will open on November 17 at noon. Space is limited, early sign-up is encouraged. 

Join us for our Youth Gingerbread House Decorating Party! Participants will be provided with all materials to construct their own Winter Wonderland House! Space is limited, so please register for this event while spaces are available!

Join us for fun and engaging STEM presentations and projects. Elementary and middle school students will work on a variety of science and math activities.

Join us for a monthly session where we’ll discuss the book choice for the month. The book selection for December is the graphic novel version of The Secret Garden adapted by Mariah Marsden and illustrated by Hanna Luechtefeld.

Join us for drop-in craft Tuesdays. Kids of all ages can make a craft to take with them. All supplies provided. No reservations needed. 

Let's play chess!  All ages and skill levels are welcome to play casual games in our relaxed setting. 

Join us for on-site tutoring for students in K-12! Kids at Heart is a volunteer-based program that provides tutoring and mentorship services.
