Exploring the world one book at a time!

Looking for a great and exciting book club?  Join the Central Library's Downtown Reads book club and travel the world with us through the reading of fun and compelling books.  We read a mix of genres including fiction and non-fiction, with our imagination as our guide.

Every 2nd Thursday of every month!

December's selection: A Christmas Story by Charles Dickens.  In a country that has so much and at the same time, a growing class of those who have less and less, Dickens' classic story of rebirth of one person's humanity through a Christmas haunting brings forth the true meaning of the holiday. As many already know, the proverbial "proof is in the pudding" that the book is a much richer telling of the story than any movie portrayal.

Share your views about the books we read on SDPL's website or on Goodreads.  Your brief SDPL reviews will also appear on other library websites nationwide.

To check out a book please visit the library catalog or contact us at vmadrid@sandiego.gov for more details or questions.  Refreshments served.
