Bluegrass: A Living American Musical Genre
The Sunny Side Strings are an all acoustic group based in Ramona and North County San Diego, California. Some call our style "Roots" as it's a uniquely American music genre that encompasses bluegrass, old time, country, blues and more. This Discovery Concert will focus on traditional bluegrass standards and perhaps a few more recent songs, sometime termed Nu-grass or Neo-traditional, since bluegrass continues to grow in scope and popularity.
This concert series was created to expand the opportunity for talented area musicians to perform in public. Many of the performers are also music educators and will enhance the programs by offering insights into the music, the composers and the performers.
