Program Description

Event Details

Friends of PHR Library invite you to meet local author Glen Peters at the December Author of the Month program! Join us for a lively discussion, Q & A, and book signing! Mr. Peters is a composer, lyricist, poet, and writer. He'll also show the film trailer that goes along with the book and some photos of his house in Umbria.

Mr. Peters will discuss his recently published first novel Where the Nights Smell Like Bread, a novel that explores the complexities of love, relationships, and the human experience as Mark Anello, a suburban math teacher who, after being dumped by his boyfriend, embarks on a journey to Rome, where he meets Alessandro, a charming but disillusioned Italian tourist. The novel delves into the seductive yet dangerous world of the elite European art circles, where Mark navigates through a web of drugs, lust, and even murder. As the story unfolds, Mark discovers a new sense of self and embraces love on his own terms, returning home transformed and equipped with wisdom to face the future with clarity and compassion.
