Event Details

Join us to craft your own flapping butterfly to celebrate the beginning of Welcoming Week!

The butterfly can be seen as a symbol for resilience and the right of all living beings to move freely. Like the monarch buttery, human beings' cross borders in search of a new home. Welcoming Week is an annual campaign that brings together communities around the world that seek to create and strengthen welcoming communities for all people, especially immigrants and refugees. The San Diego Public Library celebrates with inclusive programs for all ages, international language collections, Welcome Stations and more. We hope you will join us at one of our events and tell your neighbors.

Children’s craft every Thursday at 4pm. Join us every week to learn a different medium, how to recycle everyday materials into art, and explore monthly observances and holidays!

*Registration Required.
