Get in the holiday spirit by watching modern Christmas classics on our Community Room's big screen.
- Monday 12/20 at 5:00pm : Die Hard
- Sure, this is an action film about a NYC cop who fights terrorists in an L.A. high-rise in a bid to rescue his estranged wife, who happens to be one of the hostages. But the story is set during a Christmas party and for many the holiday season isn't complete without Die Hard. Fun fact: Die Hard makes more references to Christmas than does Bing Crosby's White Christmas,
- Starring: Bruce Willis, Alan Rickman, Reginald VelJohnson, Bonnie Bedelia, and Alexander Godunov. (1988 | R | 132 minutes)
- Tuesday 12/21 at 6:00pm : Elf
- Whimsical sale about a human baby who was raised at the North Pole, believing he is an elf. Due to his large size, the "elf" causes chaos in Santa's workshop, forcing Kris Kringle to send him on a mission to find his human roots in New York City. This one sounds on the surface like it might be overly sweet (like Buddy the Elf's spaghetti topped with strawberry, coconut, chocolate, and raspberry sauce, marshmallows, and S'Mores Pop-Tarts), but it is actually a delightful charmer.
- Starring: Will Ferrell, James Caan, Bob Newhart, Edward Asner, and Mary Steenburgen. (2003 | PG | 97 minutes)
Registration is not required, but it is encouraged so that you may receive an emailed reminder before the event.
