The Friends of the La Jolla Library presents Film Noir Classics, shown on the second Friday of every month at 2:00pm.
July 13, 2018 - Impact (1949), starring Brian Donlevy and Ella Raines. An unfaithful wife plots with her lover to kill her husband, but the lover is accidently killed instead. The husband stays in hiding, and lets his wife be charged with conspiracy.
August 10, 2018 - Laura (1944), starring Gene Tierney and Dana Andrews. A police detective falls in love with the woman whose murder he is investigating.
September 14, 2018 - Eyes in the Night (1949), starring Donna Reed and John Emery. A blind detective and his seeing-eye dog invistigate a murder and discover a Nazi plot.
October 12, 2018 - Dishonored Lady (1947), starring Hedy Lamarr and Dennis O'Keefe. Madeline Damien is the fashion editor of a slick Manhattan magazine by day and a lively party girl by night. Unfortunately, the pressure of her job and her bad luck with men are driving her to a breakdown.
November 9, 2018 - The Black Raven (1943), starring George Zucco and Wanda McKay. A group of strangers are brought together in an old, dark house and must contend with two murders and $50,000 in stolen money.
