Event Details

Lois will talk about the highs and lows of sailing around the world for eight years with her husband Gunter on a 43-foot catamaran, Pacific Bliss. She will highlight some of her greatest fears, such as encountering a Force 10 storm off the lawless coast of Venezuela, transiting the pirate-infested Strait of Malacca, and sailing through the dangerous Pirate Alley from Oman to Yemen. She will also talk about the bliss and joy of the cruising life: exploring the ports and anchorages of 62 countries, making friends with locals, and gaining an appreciation of nature. Each of Lois’s three books takes the reader one-third of the way around the world. As Lois reveals what she’s learned along the way and shares her passions with her readers, she inspires them to fulfill their own dreams, whatever they may be.
