Program Description

Event Details

*This program starts on Monday, July 11*

This middle school camp-style club for girls will encourage you to impact your community in a positive way through learning how to code utilizing the Girls Who Code curriculum which offer our fun online
tutorials and activities that will help you build animations, games, apps, and other things that you dream up!

The program is a series Monday-Thursday July 11-14 & July 18-21 from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm. Each class will build on concepts from the previous class and, if all classes aren't attended, students may miss concepts and struggle to complete their project. Please try to attend all days of the class and the full class for the full benefit.

WHAT IS A GIRLS WHO CODE CLUB?
Girls Who Code Clubs are meant for girls to join our sisterhood of supportive peers and rolemodels and use Computer Science to change the world. When you join a Club, you will be able to learn from fun and simple online coding tutorials, build community through interactive activities, and learn about inspiring role models. You then work in teams to design and build a Girls Who Code Project that solves real world problems you care about through code!

Access to a laptop computer is essential for this series. Please contact Melissa Giffen (MBarbour@sandiego.gov) if you want to join the club but do not have a laptop to use.
