Program Description

Event Details

In this Japanese tradition, a professional storyteller reveals a series of illustrations contained in a storybox as the narrative unfolds.  Before TV & comic books existed in Japan, there was Kamishibai (kami = paper; shibai = theatre).  With a wooden box, illustrations and a great narrator to tell the story, children will be enthralled with the stories and pictures! Because this program will be held outdoors, attendees should dress accordingly.  Parents are strongly encouraged to bring towels or blankets for seating.  This program is recommended for children ages 2-4 and will meet on the second Thursday of the month.
