Event Details

A former browse expert shares details on the use of plants to support wildlife in managed care. Zoo visitors often miss the importance of the plant material provided, from vital food to toys, and from furniture to shelter. Learn what occurs to make it all happen.

Danny Simpson spent 45 years at the San Diego Zoo in the horticulture dept. Over the years, he has worn a lot of hats. Starting as a tree trimmer and retiring as a Department Manager, he is also a Certified Arborist and taught arboriculture classes at Cuyamaca College for 20 years. Now he is an emeritus member of the Professional Tree Care Association of San Diego offering educational expertise.
