Program Description

Event Details

Join us for our Short "Classics" Book Club, which meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month.  For September we will be discussing Pale Horse, Pale Rider by Katherine Anne Porter.  The story details the relationship between a newspaper woman, Miranda, and a soldier, Adam, during the influenza epidemic of 1918. In the course of the narrative, Miranda becomes sick and delirious, but recovers, only to find that Adam has died of the disease, which he likely caught while tending to her. The story is set in Denver, Colorado. Copies of the book will be available at the front desk.
