Science of Fairy Tales: The Three Little Pigs and Their Engineering Dilemma!
We'll have three stations in the community room - one for building a house of straws, another for building a house of unsharpened pencils, and a third for building a house of blocks. We'll talk about the properties of the materials and their limitations... then we'll build three little houses! Can these houses withstand wind from a person (about as strong a huff-n-puff as a Wolf!)? What about withstanding the wind created by a hair dryer? We'll make some educated guesses, do some tests to see and then write up our findings.
