Event Details

Join our Welcome Note Drive Kick-Off Event and write or decorate a note to share with families newly arrived in our City. San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria, SDPL Director Misty Jones and the leads of partner organizations that provide immigration services and programs will hold a press conference stressing the importance of being a welcoming and inclusive City. Books for all ages will be provided to participants, while supplies last. 

Our library Welcome Stations will also be featured during this event, and we will be encouraging the public to visit any of the Welcome Stations at your libraries to find resources and books and find the notes they can decorate during Welcoming Week, an nationwide celebration bringing together our communities. It's happening September 9-18.
