Description of Event

The Westview Dungeons and Dragons Club is proud to present a day when people ages 10-18 can learn how to play the tabletop role-playing game, Dungeons and Dragons (D&D), which is a game that is like a real-life, choose your own adventure book. We provide this walk-in event as a way to relax for a day and to learn something new at your local library.

D&D is actually prescribed by therapists and has research stating that it stimulates social and emotional growth. Read about it in these 2 links!

This month’s themed adventure is related to Easter. You’ll find out what that means once you get there!

No prior knowledge or experience is required for this event. We appreciate people with any experience level coming to play! Though, we suggest you bring a pencil, eraser, paper, and a level 3 character sheet (digital or paper) if you have one. If you do not have these, do not fret for one will be provided to you with a class of your choice.

We will have modified rules for new players to ease into play but will also have a separate table for experienced players for those that want it.

FAQs:

I am younger than 10 or I am over 18, can I still come to play? All ages are welcome to this event but we do warn that due to D&D’s improvisational nature, it can contain violent themes and situations that may not be suitable for anyone younger than 9 and for those that find these topics difficult to handle. If the event at all becomes uncomfortable to handle, we encourage participants to take a break or leave early for their health and well-being. Please use the resources in the link below to help you if you need it. http://bit.ly./PsycomResources If your actions deem it unsafe for our club members and/or participants to work properly, we will escort you out of the event.

Is it okay to come late or leave early? It is preferable to come on time and stay the entire time to experience more of the story that we have written for the day. If not, it is okay. We can accommodate you quickly if you come late. But if you leave early, we will just see you next time!
