==== About One Book, One San Diego ====
One Book, One San Diego is an annual region-wide reading program with selections for all ages. It is a partnership between KPBS and over 80 public libraries, service organizations and educational institutions with the purpose of bringing the community closer together through the shared experience of reading and discussing the same book.
For 2024, Chanel Miller's powerful memoir, "Know my Name," was chosen as the adult selection.
She was known to the world as Emily Doe when she stunned millions with her impact statement. Stanford student-athlete Brock Turner had been sentenced to just six months in county jail after he was found sexually assaulting her on campus. In this memoir, Miller reclaims her identity to tell her story of trauma, transcendence and the power of words.
