Welcome to our virtual book club!  We will be reading out loud a variety of books ranging from classic selections to modern literature.

Get ready for this special, sorta-spooky edition of storytime! Little ones and their caregivers are invited to enjoy Halloween stories, songs, rhymes, and more. 

Join us for stories, rhymes, songs and fun.

Our library storytimes are geared towards ages 5 and under, but all ages are welcome.

Join us on the Taylor Greene to sing, dance, and move along to favorite kids songs.

Join Children’s Librarian Miss Julie for stories, songs, fingerplays, and lots of fun!

Learn signs to use with your child! Signing fun with songs, stories, and finger plays as well as tips for using sign language as a preverbal communication tool with your little one.

Join us in the library's spacious community room where we can all safely space out for a Storytime with Miss Melissa or Miss Jennifer appropriate for preschoolers.

Join in as we read, sing, dance, and play at Toddler Storytime!  Come and build essential early literacy skills and foster a love of reading. Designed for children ages 1-3.

Join Ms. Carrie, on Zoom, Wednesday mornings for virtual stories, songs, and fun that foster early literacy skills.

Join Ms. Jessica every Wednesday for an interactive Storytime featuring books, music, movement, and crafts to encourage Early Literacy skills.

Children of all ages and abilities welcome.

Enjoy fun songs and engaging stories with Carrie The Librarian! Due to Covid restrictions, masks for children and unvaccinated adults are highly encouraged. 

Sandee Wilhoit is a former high school and college teacher with a background in U.S. history, psychology and educational policy.

Mind and Body Fitness is done mostly standing or in a chair. No mats required.
Space is limited to 25 people per class.

Be sure to get to the library a little early, this class fills up fast!

Join Ms. Joyce for storytime on the outer space alphabet rug inside the library. We will read books, sing songs, shake our shakers, and have fun!

This bilingual program is designed for preschool children to experience both English and Farsi in a fun, engaging setting. During each session, we will read stories and sing in both languages. 

Ages 0-3

Bond with baby/toddler through books, songs, fingerplays and movements.

Ms. Jennifer will share stories, songs, puppets and more with children ages 0-2. Older siblings are welcome! Please bring a blanket to sit on the grass.

Join us for Toddler Storytime Outdoors with Mrs. Suzanne!  We'll have fun reading a book, singing songs & dancing to get our wiggles out.

Mr. Larry reads fun stories and sings songs followed by craft time.

Join us for a special Halloween storytime with Literature Comes to Life. During this interactive storytime, we will read the story of a witch looking for the biggest pumpkin on Halloween who discovers the value of cooperation and kindness.

Join us under the trees of our courtyard for casual, friendly conversation designed to increase participants' comfort with the English language and make new friends.  

Join us for Pre-school and elementary story time and craft. 

Facilitator Rick LeVine will cover topics based on what's in the news (elections, court cases, law reform, tax cuts, foreign affairs, etc.). This class includes lecture, dialogue, questions, and answers.

Join us at the library every other Wednesday afternoon for conversation,  knitting, crocheting, or whatever your favorite fiber art may be. Bring your own project and join others who wish to learn and grow their yarn craft skills.

Join us on the Patio outside the children's room for arts and crafts after school every Wednesday at 2pm.

Come in and make some sugar skulls, which are a traditional offering for Day of the Dead. Each child will learn how to make sugar skulls and will complete a skull using their own design embellishments.

All are welcome to attend this monthly meeting of the Friends of the Rancho Peñasquitos Branch Library.

Participants agree to follow all relevant City of San Diego COVID protocols. 

Join us for story-inspired stretches, music, and child-friendly props! We conclude by using our breath to transition from silly to calm. Please bring a mat or towel.
