Casual public chess meet, open to all skill levels. Chess club is for ages 7-17.

We supply the Legos, you provide the creativity!  Children ages 6-12 are invited to unleash their imaginations and build!  This program will meet on the first and third Monday of each month.

Put your engineering and problem-solving skills to the test by taking part in unique LEGO building challenges or let your imagination run wild and build your own special LEGO creations.

Join us for our weekly LEGO Club program! Promoting STEAM and creativity, let your kids express their inner engineer! Designs will be displayed in the children's library stacks.

Daylight saving time begins on March 9, when our clocks will spring one hour forward. Join us to make a clock craft with movable hands for hours and minutes. For ages 5 and up.

Create beautiful patterns and designs through the processes of creating “canes” with colorful polymer clay. Working on a smaller scale, this process teaches pattern and design sculpturally that can be achieved through cutting and slicing.

 Let's get creative with Perler Beads! You can make keychains, coasters, necklaces, bracelets, or ornaments by creating any designs using little beads bonded together with heat.  It's easy, lots of fun, and even meditative.

Study and get help from our homework coaches!

Did you know that there are loner bees that do not belong to hives? They still help with pollination and will come to your garden if you provide them nice accommodations. Learn how to make a bee box to draw these helpers into your garden.

For Grades 5-10; CAD workshop series to introduce students to advanced CAD used in real-world industries to create detailed and complex 3D models with OnShape and SolidWorks.

Come build your creations while making new friends!  All Legos will be supplied by the Paradise Hills Branch Library.  Your creation may even be featured in our display case! 

STEAM every other Tuesday with library staff as we take on a unique science or art project!  All supplies provided.  Grades K—5^th.

Pinwheel

Explore DNA mysteries through hands-on labs and challenges. Using tools like VR, electronics, and forensics, tackle topics like DNA replication, mutations, and genetic traits while honing problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Let's play chess!  All ages and skill levels are welcome to play casual games in our relaxed setting. 

The Introduction to Microcontrollers class gives students a basis for learning robotics by programming the Micro:bit microcontroller, a fun hand-held computer.

Come join us for Lego Club on the first and third Wednesdays of the month from 4pm - 5pm! The library provides the Lego for creative free build. Creations are displayed at the library for 2 weeks. All materials must stay at the library.

Dive into the essentials of starting your very own vegetable garden! Perfect for beginners or as a quick refresher, this workshop covers everything from soil selection to harvesting.

CREATE - SHARE - PLAY!

Children’s craft every Thursday at 4pm. Join us every week to learn a different medium, how to recycle everyday materials into art, and explore monthly observances and holidays!

Participants will create a Customized Mystery puzzle which they will solve with a bit of ingenuity, and the help of science.

For youth ages 6-9. 

What would it take to grow food on Mars? Kids will learn how NASA is exploring ways to farm in space and connect it to how ancient Mesoamerican civilizations used chinampas (floating gardens) to farm.

Science Club is for 3rd through 6th graders who are interested in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Mathematics). Each week kids engage in a new and fun hands-on/minds-on activity exploring a wide range of subjects.

Dive into the world of computer programming with Scratch! This course will guide you through the essentials of moving objects, adding sounds, creating animations, and crafting simple games.

Kids can enjoy being creative by building with LEGO blocks and DUPLO bricks. It's a great opportunity for exploring with new ideas, as well as sharing concepts and strategies with other attendees.

Bring your ideas to life at our Mobile Maker Lab in the Mission Hills-Hillcrest Library. Learn to use various programs and equipment  such as our 3D printer and die cut machine powered by Silhouette Studio.
