Stay and Play is a play group and storytime for kids age 0-5 and their adults. We especially invite nontraditional caregivers (friends, family members, and neighbors) who care for children in an informal way.

Get your imagination flowing and explore the fascinating automobile engineering and design field! You will go on an enlightening adventure that explores the many parts that go into making an automobile work.

LEGO Free Play: Imagine and build with LEGO! Keep your engineering and problem-solving skills sharp using the library's LEGO bricks.

All sewing levels welcome!   New to sewing?  No problem.   No experience necessary.  We will show you the basic skills that can be used in future sewing projects.

Do you have a household item in need of repair? Don't trash it! Come fix it for FREE at one of our upcoming Fixit Clinics where we will provide the space, tools and expert coaches to help you troubleshoot and repair your well-loved item.

Beginner friendly computer-aided design (CAD) projects such as keychains and simple geometric models. 3D printing available during class. Open to all school aged children. No previous experience necessary. No reservations needed.

We are excited to offer 3D Printing in person! Stop by the La Jolla/Riford Library's IDEA Lab during open lab hours with your .STL file and staff will be happy to assist you.

Join us every Monday for LEGO Power Hour! Build your own creations to display in our library.  Program will take place in our study rooms 3 and 4. 

Providing enrichment for our animal friends is incredibly important! During this monthly program you can help us make fun and easy enrichment items for homeless animals at our local Humane Society. 

Get together with your friends after school and have fun with a big box of different STEAM projects and games.

Just as fossils on Earth are remnants of past beings, there are fossils in the Solar System that may give answers about how the Solar System and life itself came into being.

Attention Tweens and Teens!!!

Help solve a worldwide issue! In this interactive program, participants will learn about food deserts and the science behind them. Working together, participants will come up with solutions to solve this important issue.

Let's play chess!  All ages and skill levels are welcome to play casual games in our relaxed setting. 

Use your creativity and engineering skills to build a variety of contraptions and mazes. Make ‘em tall, make ’em fast, make ‘em COMPLEX!

Are you interested in learning Computer Aided Design (CAD)? Register to attend this introduction to CAD! Presented by your local FTC Team, RoboRavens, this program will cover the basics of CAD using Onshape. 

STEAM Explorers Club is for 3rd through 6th graders who are interested in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Mathematics). Each week kids engage in a new and fun hands-on/minds-on activity exploring a wide range of subjects.

Learn how to sew a tote bag!  Clicbitz will show you the basic sewing skills needed for creating your own bag. All sewing levels welcome! All supplies provided. Registration required. 

Kids can enjoy being creative by building with LEGO blocks and DUPLO bricks. It's a great opportunity for exploring with new ideas, as well as sharing concepts and strategies with other attendees.
