About Jeffrey Zlotnik:
In addition to being a co-founder of Dharma Bum Temple, Jeffrey is also the founder and CEO of The Meditation Initiative. His work has brought the mental health benefits of mindfulness and meditation to more than 100,000 people for free since 2003. Jeffrey has led free meditation for homeless teens, K-12 schools, adult and juvenile prisons, diabetes patients, senior centers, HIV support groups, sober living homes, Superior Court judges, and victims of domestic violence and human trafficking; and for the LGBT Community Center, San Diego Pride, Wounded Warriors and Active Military with PTSD, UCSD Medical Center, Susan G. Komen, Braille Institute, Jewish Family Services, TEDxYouth, and Catholic Charities.
After graduating from the University of Arizona, Jeffrey built a successful eight-year consulting career. In 2005, he walked away from everything and moved to a Buddhist Monastery in Taiwan to live with monks for one year. He returned to San Diego in 2006 and helped open Dharma Bum Temple. Jeffrey approaches meditation simply as a daily practice of mindfulness laying the foundation for a happier and healthier life.
