Program Description

Event Details

The Mission Valley Branch Library has partnered with Rady Children’s Hospital’s Healthy Development Services/Children’s Care Connection (C3) and First 5 San Diego to present the Baby Steps class series!  From their baby’s first moments, parents strive to provide the best for their newborn, but the early days can be long and filled with uncertainty. Healthy Development Services Baby Steps is a series of workshops that offer parents an opportunity to understand the growth and learning that happens for infants, to learn unique cues for their own child, and strengthen their relationship with their babies and make supportive connections with other parents. Infancy is such an important time in a child’s life because it sets the foundation for children’s learning and future relationships.

Baby Steps is designed for parents that are expecting (prenatal) up to 15 months (prior to walking). These workshops focus on social-emotional development and communication skills. Baby Steps helps parents learn to understand their baby’s cues, build a strong bond with their baby, develop confidence in their role as a parent and connect with other parents.  Baby Steps is a 7-week series class and the first class starts on Wednesday, August 17th, 10:30-12:00pm via Zoom.  The groups are for children age birth – 15 months (prior to walking), and are provided at no cost.Contact the library at 858-573-5007 with questions or complete an interest form located at the Mission Valley Branch Library.  You may also register below to indicate your interest.  An intake and registration appointment will need to be completed prior to enrollment, which can be done over the phone at 858-966-7510.
