Introducing...Cinema Club! A new monthly program which includes a film screening followed by a brief community discussion for cinephiles and movie lovers interested in having thought-provoking conversations about cinema.

 

This month's featured film is Broken Arrow (1950) in celebration of Native American Heritage Month.

 

In 1870, it's been 10 years of war between settlers and the Apache. Ex-soldier and scout Tom Jeffords saves the life of an Apache boy, beginning his solitary mission into the Apache stronghold to open peace dialogues. Considered to be a landmark Western film that offered one of the first sympathetic and respectful portrayals of Native Americans in Hollywood. 1h 33m. Not rated.

 

Light refreshments provided. Held on the last Tuesday of every month at 5:30 p.m.
