Enjoy beautiful flute music performed by Toni Aguilar. Toni has performed throughout the United States, Asia, and Europe. Her musical journey began in San Diego Unified schools. Performing at Spreckels Theatre, Copley Symphony Hall, and the original Jack Murphy Stadium created a love for flute, performance, and community collaboration. These principles have carried throughout her musical career. A founding member of Connessa Collective (2024 3rd Place Chamber Music, London Classical Music Competition, 2023 National Flute Association selected performers and 2021 Finalists in Chamber Music, The American Prize), Toni uses music and performance as a way to connect with her community. She has served as a clinician and guest artist throughout Southern California. She graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor of Arts degree and from Colorado State University with a Master of Science with emphasis on student affairs in higher education. She is passionate about performing works by marginalized composers. Toni uses music to connect to her intersectional identities and to her community. She met her partner in the high school marching band and the two have been making music ever since. They currently live in Oceanside with their three children and adorable rescue pup.
This concert is free to attend thanks to the generous support of the Friends of the Mission Hills-Hillcrest/Knox Branch Library.
