Program Description

Event Details

The Green Mansions is percussionist and composer Nathan Hubbard’s music tribute to Hawaiian vibraphone legend Arthur Lyman, famous for his hit “Yellow Bird” and many others. The Green Mansions uses traditional Hawaiian instruments and modern technology to recreate all your favorites from the Lyman catalog. You will hear traditional Hawaiian songs, jazz tunes, older folk songs from the Pacific Rim, as well as a few choice classics from other exotica pioneers Les Baxter and Martin Denny.

This concert is free to attend thanks to the generous support of the Friends of the Mission Hills-Hillcrest/Knox Branch Library.
