Creative Collective promotes wellness and enrichment through art-making experience. Join our open-ended art-making program where you are free to be creative and expressive with many different forms of art! You can participate in meditative art forms that enhance mental and physical health or you can participate in more advanced technical and directed projects led by our facilitators and visiting artists!
This week's focus: Cyanotypes
Cyanotype is a form of image making with light sensitive material. A cross between printmaking and photography, cyanotypes are activated by UV light from the sun and activate when areas on the paper are blocked from the sun, while others are exposed. After sun exposure for a few minutes, the paper is washed and a bright blue image is revealed. Students will experiment with essential and basic photography techniques across different surfaces like paper and fabric.
All supplies will be provided. Registration required. Adults are welcome.
This program will run on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month in the Mary Hollis Conference room, located on the 1st floor of the Central Library.
(Next door to the Library Shop).
